    • Currency: The official currency of the UAE is the Arab Emirates Dirham (AED).
    • Language: Arabic is the official language of the UAE, however English is widely spoken.
    • Visas: Visas are required by all persons entering the country, with the exception of citizens from certain countries.
    • Time: The UAE is four hours ahead of GMT. The time does not change during the summer.
    • Tipping: Tipping is not compulsory, but is a common practice.
    • Mobile Phones: The UAE has an excellent and extensive mobile phone network. Pay-as-you-go cards are available for visitors who do not wish to use their home services.
    • Driving: Public transport options are easily available in Dubai, however should you want to drive, an international driver’s license will be required. If you are in a car accident, do not panic. Just remain with your vehicle, without moving it from the place where the accident happened, and wait for the police to arrive. It is strictly prohibited to drive while under the influence of an alcoholic or narcotic substance. According to the local law, there is zero tolerance for these offenses.
